About us:



Youngs is growing, a lot. We promote internally, and this is an exceptional chance to join us on your career journey. 

We are looking for a Head Chef to work with local suppliers, seasonal products and create their own exciting menus. You will have strong leadership skills and experience in running a team of at least five chefs. You must have detailed knowledge on food safety, health and safety and allergens. We will provide extra training for your development, and to help safe guard our business and people. 

Dating back as far is 1719, our Grade II listed lovely stands proudly on Keynsham Lock beside banks of the River Avon. Now back open after a sympathetic refurbishment, the old dear is looking as charming as ever.

Step into our cosy abode to a beloved foodie haven, you’ll be greeted by the warm embrace of British classics, prepared with hand-picked ingredients at the peak of their freshness. Our menus celebrate the changing seasons, showcasing delightful specials that pay homage to local harvests.

Conveniently situated just a 10-minute drive from both Bristol and Bath, and just a 5-minute stroll to Keynsham Train Station.

What we look for in a
Head Chef:



This role
requires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and lead
by example whilst being able to develop, cost and produce fresh seasonal menus
for the variety of revenue streams within the business.



  • Have experience championing excellent service
    through quality food either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef
  • Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing
    a team
  • Be an active hands-on team player with
    excellent communication skills
  • Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen
    staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
  • Be able to demonstrate your creativity and
    ability to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
  • Demonstrate great planning and organisational
    skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and
    labour
  • Have a pro-active approach to driving sales
    and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house
    teams
