Job summary

The Integrated CAMHS/ Children and Young Peoples Psychology Teams across Lancashire are currently undergoing significant changes as they move towards an integrated Thrive model.

As part of this new change we are now looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed CAMHS Clinical Leaders to join the team in Preston. This is a new and exciting role that is being introduced into CAMHS.

Clinical leads will work collaboratively with Team Leaders, Service Integration Managers and the senior Clinical leads in the locality to provide clinical leadership for their respective team. The suitable candidate will have experience of working with this client group, demonstrate good leadership and communication skills with the ability to self-motivate and organise themselves to manage priorities.

The successful candidate will have continuing responsibility for the delivery of high quality service provision by the CAMHS / CYPPs team to ensure delivery of an integrated, responsive and person centred service. To develop and maintain robust partnership working arrangements between CAMHS/ CYPPs and community partners and other key stakeholders. To support staff in the CAMHS team to have opportunities for continuing professional development, in order to provide evidence based practice, and to drive improvements in standards of practice in line with the NHS modernisation and Public Health agendas.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide clinical leadership to staff across the CAMHS community services within their locality. They will lead on the quality agenda and embed governance in conjunction with the Service and Team Leaders and within the locality services to ensure that patient safety is paramount. The post holder will take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. The Clinical Lead will work as an autonomous practitioner to promote high standards of assessment (including risk assessment), diagnosis, treatment and highly specialist expert advice to young people and carers. They will carry a caseload and offer therapeutic interventions based on evidence based practice. They will support the Team Leader to develop and promote a holistic, supportive and patient centred service and will provide professional and clinical leadership within the locality. They will assist the Service Manager to embed systems and processes to ensure staff within the locality services are clinically competent to undertake their role.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

Degree Level or equivalent qualification and/or relevant core professional qualification (NMC, Social Work England or HCPC registered) Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post. Compliance with regulatory bodies and codes of professional conduct with evidence of continuous CPD

Desirable
