Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and well-motivated CT Radiographer to support the delivery of an inclusive and progressive diagnostic CT imaging service delivering excellence for all, now and for generations to come.

Successful candidates will provide a high-quality service to adults, children and young people using best practice at all times promoting a positive patient and family experience embracing sensitivity to individual patient's needs.

The successful candidate will make an important contribution to the care and management of both inpatients and outpatients requiring diagnostic CT procedures in an acute Trust setting. The individual will work closely with the CT Modality Lead, and CT Team Leads to promote continued development of the service to deliver a high standard of care and positive patient experience whilst being responsive to the needs of other clinical directorates.

The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery and has an established track record of service re-design and transformation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will train and work in the CT departments providing a high quality CT scanning service to patients in an acute and outpatient setting. The role involves supporting and giving advice to Radiographers whilst working closely with the Lead site CT specialist radiographers and Modality and service lead Radiographers.

The post holder will undertake an active role in radiology service improvement and will be responsible for the day to day management of a designated CT scanning area within Imaging.

There is a need to acquire competence in all aspects of CT scanning and also participate in general radiography. An important part of the role will involve intravenous cannulation for injections and point of care testing.

Working on a rotational basis in the CT department and within general radiographic areas there will be a requirement to participate in the 24 hour emergency CT service working shift patterns including on call.

An important aspect of the role is maintaining associated medical imaging records, both paper based and in computerised systems with participation in audit and research as required.

The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and teaching of Radiographers, Radiology assistants, Support Staff and Student Radiographers.

Statutory and mandatory training together with continued professional development must be kept up to date.

Qualifications

HCPC registration (R) or BSc Radiography Documented experience in diagnostic imaging. Evidence of CPD and reflective practice, link grade competencies

Evidence of short specialist/leadership courses/education.
