Solihull Hospital is expanding its theatre suite with 6 new theatres, creating exciting career opportunities.

With the addition of orthopaedic surgery and robotic colorectal surgery to the existing specialities of breast and plastics, robotic and non-robotic urology, colorectal and UGI, there has never been a better time to join the team.

The theatres will cover a broad range of low and high complexity cancer and non-cancer surgery. This will be a cutting-edge development aligned with current national policy.

As we look forward to the opening of the six new theatres in Spring 2024, we will be seeing an extra 10,000 operations every year, thus creating twelve Band 6 opportunities. Our Theatres Matron Johanna Blake will lead these new colleagues. Her strategy is to bring together a team to provide the best patient experience, and to deliver a high standard of care to everyone who comes through the doors of theatre.

- NMC Registered Nurse / HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner
- Knowledge of a broad range of theatre procedures and instrumentation/ processes equivalent to post graduate level acquired through Diploma / Degree plus experience and further study or qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge associated with the practice setting

**Desirable**:

- Health care leadership / management qualification

- Recent experience within theatres working as a registered practitioner in an acute practice setting involving the supervision / education of junior staff
- Professional portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
