As our next Systems Engineering Lead (internally known as Platform Engineering Lead), you'll lead the Platform Engineering function and its engineers to deliver new systems whilst maintaining operational stability of production services. About the role

Leading and developing a team that provides a mix of E-Commerce, Middleware, Oracle Middleware, Systems Management and Monitoring services across YBS, you will -

  • Manage a team, performance management, regular reviews and ongoing team development to ensure all team members have opportunities to develop their personal and technical skills

  • Liaise with other IT teams, provide 2nd and 3rd line support services on a 24 x 365 on call basis for elements of the associated technology stack across all Non-Production, business critical Production and Disaster Recovery environments

  • Complying with agreed processes, oversee the delivery of all project and roadmap initiatives owned by the team

  • Ensure the provision of appropriate Infrastructure consultancy services to assure the architecture, design and delivery of the supported platforms technology stack and the infrastructure it resides upon

  • Maintain/ initiate relationships with 3rd party vendors for products within the team ownership to ensure technical proficiency

  • Validate the implementation of automated build, deployment and monitoring procedures to facilitate rapid/repeatable environment delivery

About you

You’ll have strong skills in providing Middleware, Systems Management and Messaging Administration services in complex Business Critical IT environments. You will have

  • Ability to drive, demonstrate and communicate strategic level proposals to both technical and non-technical groups

  • Demonstrable experience of enterprise level integrations solutions providing business critical services

  • Ability to drive, demonstrate and communicate strategic level proposals to both technical and non-technical groups

  • Highly organised, able to manage demand and capacity using project management disciplines

  • A high-level knowledge of web-tier technologies
