Cambridge, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

The Research Operations Office is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Audit and Compliance Analyst on a permanent basis. As a member of the Research Office team, you will work alongside departments, academics and Research Operations staff to administer the audits of the University's portfolio of research grants and to provide professional service to departments in supporting them in meeting their assurance requirements from sponsors and their terms and conditions.

The Senior Audit and Compliance Analyst coordinates all funder-led audit visits both externally and internally, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively, and findings are appropriately highlighted and then coordinated to a resolution.

The role will provide proactive support to the departments across the University on effective implementation of funder's terms and conditions as well as University policies to avoid the University's failure to meet its regulatory obligations in managing grants and thereby being penalised for non-compliance.

The role will also support the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager and Quality Assurance and Compliance Coordinator with activities related to assurance and compliance reviews of research funding and its administration across the University.

We are looking for a proactive individual, with great interpersonal, numerical, organisational and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have experience of working in multi-stakeholder environment and funding support as well as experience of working in an audit, compliance or assurance function. They will be educated to a degree level (or equivalent) and knowledge of sponsors terms and conditions (for example EC, UKRI, Welcome Trust, NIH, CRUK, BHF) is preferable but not essential.

Your application should clearly set out how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification (the skills and experience required for the role) along with relevant examples. Candidates will be shortlisted based on these criteria.

Additional information regarding the role may be found within the further particulars via the link below.

Benefits

The University offers an excellent benefit package including:

-Competitive rates of pay with automatic service-related pay progression and annual cost of living increases.

-Generous annual leave allowance of 36 days paid leave (including bank holidays).

-Flexible working opportunities.

-Generous maternity, adoption and shared parental leave entitlement and other family friendly schemes (e.g., workplace nurseries and salary exchange schemes for childcare)

-Attractive pension scheme.

-Travel benefits and retail discounts at over 2,000 local and national stores.

-Support for health and mental wellbeing.

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows, with the majority of time spent on-site. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

The closing date for applications is 25th August 2024. The interviews date for the role are planned for w/c 9th September 2024.

If you have questions about the application process, contact .

The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
