Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiasticand proactive Prescription Admin Clerk to join our friendly and busy GPPractice and to provide a friendly and efficient prescribing service for thesurgery.

The role is for 25 hours per week,Monday - Friday, Mornings only. Start time is flexible.

The ideal candidate needs to be anexcellent communicator with interpersonal skills and ideally someone who hasworked in a pharmacy or GP surgery, with some knowledge of prescriptions and/orreceptionist/administrator skills, who would like to further their career.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

To provide a high standard of service in the processing of prescription requests. To act as a focal point of communication between the Clinicians, Receptionists, Practice Staff, Patients and local pharmacies as well as other health care organisations to ensure patients repeat prescriptions are produced. To also help and support the reception team to ensure the successful delivery of reception services to the patients and clinicians of the Birchwood Practice. To be aware of all aspects of the surgery and to ensure it runs efficiently.

At all times the post holder must act in a manner consistent with the code of conduct and the NHS.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Manage incoming medication requests from various sources; over the counter, website, SystmOne, emails, patients, pharmacies, care homes, and from post-dated prescription list for patients who are not able to order their own Process Prescription requests within the practice timeframe Allocate medication review to the appropriate healthcare profession when repeat medication has expired Deal with prescription queries from patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals either in person, online or on the telephone. Collaborate effectively with technicians and pharmacists across the medicine management team. Record clinical information on patients records through workflow, changes to medication, summaries drug information, send texts, emails and letters to patients. Monitoring when patients need medication reviews: Running SystmOne clinical reports to identify any patients that are missing certain tests, such as blood tests that are needed for the medication they are on. Request bloods on the ICE system. To call patients in for Blood pressure checks, weight checks, pill and hrt appointments. Promotion of Electronic Prescription Service, Online Ordering and Electronic Repeat Dispensing Supporting the Administrator in the sending off of Prescription Pricing Authority and ensuring correct prescriptions are claimed for Supporting the Deputy Practice Manager and IT and OPS Manager in the Ordering of medication and medical sundries, ensuring items are bought for a good price.
