You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. 

You will direct preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties.

You will proactively identify costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients.

Manages a large team (or several teams) of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success & key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.

Drives measurement of valuations to ensure cost control and reporting services are enforced.

Directs the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.

Proactively identifies costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges.

Oversees the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.

Directs issuing of certificates of practical completion to ensure final sign off on accounts.

Advises on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with completion, submissions and approval requirements.

Leads cost consultants to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures, templates and products to enhance services provided to stakeholders.

Delivers continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned. 

Drives transformational change.

Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have: 

Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.

Demonstrable experience in commercial management across a variety of sectors.

Sound understanding of costing and timescales.

Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management.

Proven experience of different types of contracts including the method of measurement.

Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.

Negotiation skills

Analytical skills

Digital comprehension.

Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).

Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).

Detailed knowledge in most forms of contract.

Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.

Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.

Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.

Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.

You’ll also have:

Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). 

Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.

Strong Bidding and business development experience. 

Strong commercial and financial acumen.

Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. 

Management experience within large, diverse teams.

Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
