Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our planning and project controls function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects and tenders within our portfolios are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning function across your area of responsibility, ensuring that projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  • Deploy and implement our business' planning and project controls procedures across portfolio.
  • Responsible for the planning of larger or more complex projects, minor business units, or parts of larger business units.
  • Advocate for Mace's value of safety first, leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.
  • Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, understanding the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.
  • Lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with our overall vision and objectives.
  • Responsible for the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs and the overall contribution to our broader company goals.
  • Ensure projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  • Advises on complex requirements and communicates analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Manage planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
  • Oversee planning/scheduling, EVM, project controls methodologies.
  • Influence complex requirements and communicates analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Create plans and analyses trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
  • Support senior management in negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development.
  • Lead the planning team and provide leadership and direction through managers/team.
  • Inspire and empower individuals within your portfolio to deliver high-quality standards and outputs.
  • Undertake tasks required to fulfill the requirements of the project/assignment.
  • Provide performance management, technical, and career development, and coaching.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software.
  • Mastery in setting up effective planning/schedule management systems and procedures.
  • Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Multi-industry construction experience.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients and other project stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Manage and resolve any actual or potential conflicts with the client or project stakeholders.
  • Building and leading a high-performing team/s.
  • Looking to the future to create a vision and set strategy.
  • Spotting, developing, and coaching talented individuals.
  • Promotes the business and winning work.
  • Persuading and influencing colleagues.
  • Degree (or equivalent) with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the construction, programme, project, or commercial management disciplines.
