Are you a confident individual with a passion for supporting students in their educational journey?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join one of our client schools in Hythe. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to develop their experience in education, particularly for aspiring teachers or those wishing to make a positive impact on young learners.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a productive and supportive learning environment. Your role will involve managing classroom behaviour, delivering pre-set lesson plans, and assisting students with their tasks.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans effectively and ensure students remain engaged.
  • Maintain a calm and productive classroom environment.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding students’ progress and behaviour.
  • Uphold school policies and standards, including safeguarding practices.

Required Qualifications for a Cover Supervisor: .

  • Prior experience working with children or young adults, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
