Science Teacher - Enfield

Protocol Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic partner secondary school in September. Our partner schools is Ofsted rated Good in all areas as of 2022 and was described in the report as a "calm and orderly" school with "polite and respectful" students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching science and inspiring students to explore the wonders of the natural world. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across various scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, to students aged 11-16.

This is a long-term temporary placement from September until December, with potential to extend. This is an open vacancy with the school so depending on how the successful teacher gets on in school, there may be potential to take on a permanent role from January 2025. Payscales will be adhered to in this role from the start date. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage students and promote understanding of scientific concepts. Utilize innovative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments. Provide constructive feedback to support student development.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning by establishing clear expectations and maintaining discipline.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues in the science department to develop curriculum resources, share best practices, and contribute to departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science or a related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Experience teaching science at the secondary level 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire students.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity within the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
