ALN TA - 1-1 Emotional, social and behavioural support

New Directions Education is recruiting for an experienced ALN teaching assistant with knowledge of ESB support for a fantastic school in the every Monday to Friday between 1pm and 3.40pm in addition to covering lunch duty at 12.30pm.

We are looking for someone reliable, passionate, and dedicated who could provide one to one support for a year 6 pupil who needs emotional, social and behavioural support. The pupil is generally compliant, but does need firm direction and support when he/she is dis-regulated.

You will be working directly under the supervision of the teacher, and will also be helping them prepare the classroom for lessons. This may involve a variety of activities such as photocopying worksheets, setting up art equipment, weighing out ingredients, preparing computers, rearranging the furniture for a particular activity and so on. The right candidate will be committed to the role and should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life.

Job Requirements include:

  • A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
  • The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC
