Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking for a rewarding career in education? We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel.

This full-time position involves working one-on-one with students who require additional support, helping them navigate their daily routines, stay engaged during the school day, and achieve their learning goals. You'll also help identify triggers and use de-escalation techniques when needed.

We're looking for someone with strong behaviour management skills, excellent communication, and a passion for supporting others. You'll have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a meaningful way and contribute to the growth and development of special needs pupils.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing individual support to students with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, epilepsy, and mental health challenges
  • Helping students navigate their daily routines and stay engaged during the school day
  • Identifying triggers and using de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Reporting on student progress and behaviour
  • Being open to receiving training in Team Teach and Manual Handling
