Assala Energy, a leading Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company with operations in Gabon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning and Economics Analyst to join our Finance department in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities. This role involves detailed financial analysis, risk assessment, and providing strategic insights to support investment decisions and enhance the company's financial performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Finance Model: Maintain and develop the company's corporate finance model to perform consolidated business analysis, incorporating changes to PSC or fiscal terms.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing to assess financial viability and risks.
  • Data Integration: Integrate economic, financial, and operational data into models for comprehensive insights.
  • Commercial Support: Provide analysis and recommendations to support key commercial decisions, exploration opportunities, and M&A activity.
  • Local Economics Models: Ensure local Economics models are up-to-date to support the AFE process.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage the budgeting and reforecasting process and take ownership of the Group long-term plan and associated scenarios.
  • Capital Allocation: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support capital allocation decisions.
  • Cash Flow & Debt Funding: Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team to ensure cash flow and debt funding models are fit-for-purpose.

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience

  • Education: 10+ years’ relevant work experience in upstream O&G Economics with specific exposure toProduction & Sharing Contracts (PSC’s).
  • Skills: Extremely strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Ability to distil complex information into simple and easily understandable analytics and reports.
  • Behaviours: Excellent critical thinker.
  • Desire to work and maintain high standards with good attention to detail. Professional attitude.
  • Proactive to identify problems and find solutions.
