About the Role

Capital Economics Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Economic Data Analyst to join our team in London. As an Economic Data Analyst, you will play a key role in driving forward our data offering and data visualization capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Visualization: Create new interactive charts and dashboards, as well as bespoke dashboards for our clients, for publication on our website using our chosen data visualization tools.
  2. Database Development: Support the development of the database that drives our interactive dashboards.
  3. Data Collection: Search for and collate data from a variety of sources on a wide range of economic and sector-specific topics.
  4. Data Preparation: Construct well-organized spreadsheets and prepare data in Microsoft Excel.
  5. Quality Assurance: Carry out periodic reviews of the database and dashboards to check for errors and ensure that the interactive content functions as originally intended.
  6. Support: Provide support to internal and external users of our data visualization tools.
Requirements
  1. Academic Background: A strong academic background with a good undergraduate degree in economics, econometrics, or a related subject.
  2. Coding Experience: Some previous coding experience or familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
  3. Data Visualization: A strong interest in data visualization. Previous experience of data visualization software (such as Power BI or Tableau) is preferable but not essential.
  4. Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
