Directlyreporting to the Senior Operations Manager the role of ContractManager is a pivotal one. You will oversee the entire lifecycle offencing projects from tendering and planning to development andexecution across rail road and watersectors.

Your expertise and leadershipwill be instrumental in fostering collaboration among internalteams external stakeholders and supplier partners ensuring thetimely and budgetconscious delivery of projects while upholdingquality and safety standards.

Beyond fencing youmay also be involved in civils work arboriculture landscape andecology projects. You will be focused predominantly on the Railsector with some Highways work as well.

The rolecovers an area from Manchester to Carlisle and predominantly coversLNW North LNE North and Scotland with occasional travel to coverprojects nationwide.

KeyResponsibilities will beto;

  • Collaborate withBusiness Development Site Managers and Supervisors to conduct sitesurveys and assess work scope.
  • Developcomprehensive project plans setting project scope objectives anddeliverables in partnership withclients.
  • Effectively manage project budgetsresource allocation and expenses to maintain optimal financialperformance.
  • Ensure projects are aligned withcontract and commercial requirements.
  • Workalongside commercial teams to ensure accurate and punctualapplication submissions.
  • Be accountable forachieving a minimum gross profit in line with the agreedbudget.
  • Coordinate efforts with engineeringdesign procurement and construction teams to ensure streamlinedproject execution.
  • Foster strong relationshipswith both internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Identify potential issuesformulate contingency plans and implement corrective actions tomitigate risks.
  • Monitor project advancement andperformance providing regular updates to senior management andstakeholders.
  • Drive innovation by pinpointingopportunities for process enhancement and the adoption of bestpractices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safetyenvironmental and industry regulations throughout all projectphases.
  • Draft and review safetycriticaldocumentation (WPP TBS etc.).
  • Serve as theResponsible Manager in accordance with 019Standard.

QualificationsandExperience:

  • Demonstratedsuccessful management and delivery of transportation or railinfrastructure projects.
  • Profound familiaritywith project management methodologies tools andtechniques.
  • Outstanding leadership capabilitiesmotivating and inspiring crossfunctionalteams.
  • Exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills facilitating collaboration with internal andexternal stakeholders.
  • Experience in riskmanagement contract negotiation and procurementprocesses.
  • Proficiency in project managementsoftware and tools.
  • Competency in Word ExcelSharePoint and other digital systems.
  • Priorexperience in the role of ResponsibleManager.
  • Advantageous to have prior experienceas a CRE (Contractor ResponsibleEngineer).
