A day in the life of an Ascent Mission Support Officer

As the Mission Support Officer, you will be part of an Operations Team working within a safety critical aviation environment, by providing an essential and professional service to all aircrew undertaking Elementary, Basic, Multi-Engine and Rotary based flight training, across four defence sites. If you are interested in joining our exceptional team with supporting maximum training output towards the safe and efficient delivery of the Daily Flying Programme, then this exciting role is for you. You will be instrumental with:  

  • Maintaining safe & efficient Mission Support services to our Mission Planning System - Geographical Electronic Cockpit Organiser (GECO) across all flying sites.
  • The delivery & continuation of technical overlay services by managing and augmenting all NOTAMs in order to provide a flight safety critical planning product to all aircrew.
  • Providing expert mission support and continuation MPS training to Operations Officers to allow contingency in product delivery.
  • In depth knowledge of all IT systems and applications pertinent to core services and output of all mission support services along with close technical support through software provider.
