Teaching Personnel are currently working with a supportive and inclusive school dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child. They work with students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The school is a vibrant and dynamic environment where no two days are the same, but every day is rewarding.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with students to provide tailored support.
  • Implement behaviour strategies to help students manage challenges effectively.
  • Act as a positive role model, fostering trust and building strong relationships with pupils.
  • Support students in the classroom, encouraging engagement and participation.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create individual support plans.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where children feel valued and understood.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews of students' support needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual with:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in a school, care, or similar setting).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to meet the dynamic needs of the school.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided).

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications, e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Youth Work.
  • Experience using therapeutic approaches, such as trauma-informed practice, restorative justice, or mindfulness techniques.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
