Main duties of the job

This post is to work on the General Paediatric rota to cover Maternity Leave for 10 months. To start asap. There may be an opportunity to extend the post in either General Paediatrics/PICU. The post is not recognised as a formal training slot. However, the on-site training opportunities will be the same as the other ST4/ST5 Doctors.

Qualifications

MBBS or equivalent Full GMC Registration MRCPCH examination APLS provider status NLS provider status

Desirable

Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1st degree Academic and extracurricular achievements

Skills

Essential

Proven ability to work as a member of a team Ability to communicate effectively with patients, senior medical staff and other health professionals is vital Proficient and efficient handling of medical problems with evidence of safe sound practical procedures

Knowledge of changes occurring in NHS as a whole and its impact on speciality work Awareness of the importance of clinical governance
