Exciting Opportunity: Trainee Quantity Surveyor at Equans in Birmingham
Are you ready to launch your career with a global leader in construction? Equans is seeking a passionate and dedicated Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Birmingham based at either Kings Road or College Road on a permanent, full-time basis.
The role will include a degree apprenticeship in Level 6 Quantity Surveying through a local university where you will achieve a degree and RIKs (RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation over 5 years .
What will you deliver?
Assist the QS team with commercial administration and management on live projects and pre-construction phases. Prepare final accounts and documentation for valuation, procurement, and commercial administration. Liaise with buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities Support day-to-day cost control, monitoring, and reporting. Ensure financial aspects of projects are managed to ensure correct safety equipment usage. Proactively support the QS/Senior QS in managing and controlling commercial, financial, and contractual elements to maximize company profitability. Develop an understanding of contracts, specifications, and pricing to ensure compliance. Assist in subcontractor selection and ensure they have the necessary information to perform their work.

Who are we looking for?
Someone interested in a career in construction. A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths. We would also consider a HNC in a construction discipline. Competent with all Microsoft packages and IT skills Must reside in a Birmingham City Council Postcode
