The post holder will join the existing team to provide support and care for patients attending the treatment suite. They will work with colleagues supporting patients during their appointments, providing individualised and compassionate patient care.
You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be prepared to develop clinical skills, and be competent in venepuncture and performing ECG's. You should be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of this busy day unit.

Main duties of the job
This post will require you to work 20 hours per week. Although this job is based at the the Maidstone site it may be necessary on rare occasions to travel to the Pembury site for training/meetings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic: ), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level . (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children).

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Functional skills English and Maths level 1 or GCSE English and maths grade G/1 or above. NVQ/Diploma level 3 in Healthcare (competencies assessed in a healthcare environment) or equivalent healthcare qualification, e.g. successful completion of a level 2 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship. Internal applicants only: In the absence of the above qualifications, the job holder will be required to successfully complete a level 3 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship within the first 13 months of employment.
