The Role

will involve supporting and facilitating General Practices to continually improve and develop the quality of the electronic patient record and support ICBs and Primary Care Networks in the development of their data quality strategies.

This role will principally be working from home. Some travel will be required in line with the requirements of the role (Base location is negotiable)

Main duties of the job

As a successful applicant you will have experience of working in a clinical systems based role, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.

You must have a methodical, yet flexible approach to your work and be able to exercise responsible judgement. The ability to work as part of a team and the commitment to provide an efficient and effective service is essential, as is knowledge of working within the NHS and GP systems.

The successful candidate must have an excellent working knowledge of TPP SystmOne and / or EMIS Web, ERS, EPS, GP2GP and Docman along with in in-depth working knowledge of GP practice management and process.

The pattern of working hours can be agreed and we are flexible to consider a patterns such as school time hours or specific days.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Specialist knowledge of GP Clinical Coding is essential. The post holder must have in-depth knowledge on how clinical data is recorded within GP Clinical Systems, how to input onto the systems through use of Clinical Templates, Protocols and Concepts and how to interrogate the systems for retrieval of data to aid GP Practices payments, Risk Stratification and benefits identification and realisation, aiding service redesign and delivery.

Key elements of the role are:-

The post holder must establish good working relationships and clear communications with colleagues in the ICBs, General Practice staff and other internal or external organisations. Required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders; including ICB member GP practices. Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services, and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political, and contain contentious information with the aim of providing information and analytical advice to the teams. Work with members of the team and member GP practices to develop and implement project data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data. Support effective configuration management change control authorisation (advising on impact of new functionality on service processes and training), version control, release management, impact analysis for new release, hot fixes and upgrades. To support the systems administration function by ensuring the relevant system reference files are maintained and updated to reflect changes with clinical systems support member GP practices systems and functionality. Ensure all areas of systems meet the needs of the ICBs and its member GP Practices and these are used effectively to the advantage of the ICB. To continuously monitor the services/functionality provided from the systems with particular regard to system functionality usage, data quality, availability, accuracy and completeness. To co-ordinate the data quality programmes of work ensuring the integrity of data enables accurate information to be produced and enable them to change working practices in an appropriate manner. To investigate General Practice procedures regarding information and the use of information technology. Advise on good practice and encourage/ facilitate General Practitioners to change working practices to conform to the national and local legislation/guidance DPA, Caldecott, Good Practice guidelines. To produce data quality action plans and rectify poor areas of date identified within those plans. Carry out complex analysis of GP systems and data and assess the accuracy of practice information, interpret the data and create reports to feedback to the practice staff in an appropriate and non-judgemental manner, suggest improvements and agree an action plan appropriate to the practice.

A full driving licence and access to a car for work use is essential as this role is may require working out at GP Practice sites.
