This role will work within the Nissan Skills Foundation.

The Nissan Skills Foundation was created in order to raise the aspirations of local children and young people. Their prime objective is to show the local community that social issues, economic background and gender are not barriers to a potential career in advanced Engineering and Manufacturing.

Nissan’s dedicated School team, based at the Sunderland Plant, want to inspire the next generation of British design, engineering and manufacturing talent.

Outline and Responsibilities:

Facilitation of daily school activity with children aged 10-11 Champion for engagement in STEM activities. Working with young children to encourage growth in STEM related learning while increasing awareness of opportunities within the automotive sector

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Working in a small team; friendly approach; team player; engaging communicator, confident, proactive and flexible Previous experience of working with young adults and children Ability to communicate and engage with children, young adults and teachers Evidence of good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision An understanding of respect for equality and respect for diversity Passionate about education, encouraging and supporting children and young people, including SEN, ages 8-19 Work under pressure with pace and a sense of urgency while maintaining customer focus Have or be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification, ie level 2 / level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages
