To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Speciality Doctor to join the respective re-enablement (The Wolds) and rehabilitation (The Fens) services based at Discovery House, Lincoln. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of general adult and inpatient psychiatry and who is able to support the Adult Inpatient and Urgent Care division in providing compassionate, high quality services.

The role is full-time at 10PAs per week and will be split across the services with 4PAs at The Fens and 6PAs at the Wolds. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share however, due to the nature of the role there is limited scope for remote working.

Main duties of the job

Day to day responsibility for managing patients on the ward in conjunction with their clinical team.

The assessment and management of patients referred to the Rehabilitation and re-enablement services.

Day to day responsibility for physical/psychiatric care of the 16 patients on the ward.

Liaising with other professionals and agencies involved in the patients' care.

Attending care planning meetings, ward rounds, risk assessment and referral meetings

Referral assessments as necessary

Attending Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers' Hearings

Preparation of reports for case summaries, CPAs, Tribunal/Managers' Hearings, Discharge Summaries

The Trust doctor will be expected to participate in the postgraduate activities related to psychiatric services and to ensure CPD requirements are met.

The Trust Doctor will be expected to participate in departmental studies and the medical/clinical audit process.

To work in liaison with other SAS doctors to provide medical and psychiatric cover for the patients within Discovery House

The post holder is expected to assess new patients and review inpatients for/with the MDT.

The post holder is expected to participate in weekly MDT meetings and conduct CPA reviews.

To be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing services to inpatients

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification At least 4 years' full-time postgraduate training, or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis. At least two full-time years in a specialty training programme in relevant specialty, or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty, or equivalent experience and competencies. Full GMC registration DBS clearance

Desirable

MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months. Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months. Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management Additional clinical qualifications.
