Job Summary:

  • Full-time role split between re-enablement (The Wolds) and rehabilitation (The Fens) services at Discovery House, Lincoln.
  • Opportunity for a doctor passionate about general adult and inpatient psychiatry.
  • Main responsibility includes managing patients, assessments, care planning, and liaising with other professionals.
  • Expected to participate in postgraduate activities, audits, and medical cover for patients.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Manage patients on the ward and provide physical/psychiatric care.
  • Attend care planning meetings, ward rounds, and referral meetings.
  • Prepare reports for case summaries, hearings, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in postgraduate activities, studies, and CPD requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration and DBS clearance.
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training.
  • Relevant specialty training experience or equivalent.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent desired.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrate commitment to further development.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for clinical care.

Skills:

  • Leadership in a multi-disciplinary team and managing workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to appraise own performance.
  • Creative problem-solving and liaising with colleagues.
