What does a day look like for you here?

Based at our Farnborough recovery centre, you will ensure the smooth recovery and continuity of IT services in the event of disruptions or disasters, a crucial role in maintaining business operations for our valued customers.

Your daily activities will include monitoring IT systems, networks, and applications to detect anomalies, failures, or potential threats. You will also perform regular maintenance on both hardware and software, applying updates, patches, and managing hardware components to prevent issues before they occur.

You’ll also ensure that regular data backups are conducted and securely stored, verifying the integrity and accessibility of backup data. Regularly testing disaster recovery plans and backup systems will be essential, including running simulations of disaster scenarios to confirm that recovery processes are effective. Promptly responding to IT incidents, diagnosing root causes, and implementing solutions to restore services quickly are key aspects of your role. Keeping detailed records of incidents and updating documentation related to recovery procedures and configurations is also critical.

You’ll also set up and configure new hardware, such as servers, storage systems, and networking equipment, and managing software applications to ensure they integrate smoothly into the existing infrastructure. Teamwork will also be key in this role so you may work closely with other IT teams, such as network administrators, security specialists, and application developers, to ensure cohesive disaster recovery strategies.

Your role is crucial in ensuring that the organisation can quickly recover from IT disruptions and maintain business continuity, minimising downtime and protecting data integrity, which ultimately supports the overall stability and efficiency of the business.  You’ll help our customers bounce back quickly from IT disruptions, keeping critical data and systems safe and available.  Your support will keep their business resilient and running efficiently, making you a key player in its success.

You should also have a key eye for detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. Good organisational abilities, adaptability, teamwork, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage stress will help you succeed in this role, ensuring you can effectively support the organisation’s IT recovery and business continuity efforts.

You should also have:

  • Proficiency in Intel/Windows Desktop Support.
  • Fundamental Understanding of Networks, Switches & Routers.
  • Basic Familiarity with Windows Server Operating Systems.
