Job summary

Southend Medical Centre has an opportunity for a medical administrator/ receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, for hours per day Monday - Friday ( hours per week). The surgery is open Monday - Friday 8am , applicants must be available during these times and rotas are issued on a monthly basis.

The role is primarily based in the administration department with reception cover and you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of surgery reception duties, including supporting our patients and the clinical team.

Main duties of the job

Meeting and greeting our patients in a friendly, approachable, and welcoming manner. Answering the telephone and booking appointments along with signposting patients to the most suitable service for them. Dealing with patient queries on the telephone and face-to-face. Liaising, and building relationships, with all departments and external organisations, in accordance with current policies and guidelines. Always communicating effectively and efficiently. Processing workflow, correspondence and A&E documents, along with daily post. Registrations & deductions, along with movement of records. Summarising.

Essential

Demonstrate excellent customer service. Be a team player and enjoy working in a positive work culture. Act with integrity. Have strong communication skills and attention to detail. Understand the need for, and have the ability to adhere to our patient confidentiality policy. Be competent and experienced with using computers General Practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
