Main duties of the job
As a Directorate Manager you will play a key role in supporting your Associate Service Group Director in delivering effective leadership and management of the Neath Port Talbot and Singleton Service Group (NPTSSG).The posts have been designed to work with considerable freedom to act. In your role will lead on all operational issues for the directorate, ensuring Performance Management, Delivery of Service and Financial Framework Targets, Communication and Information Governance for the Directorate ensuring that there is clear and unequivocal focus on quality and safety at the core of the NPTSSG's operational management arrangements are in the process of being redesigned to ensure they underpin the achievement of our ambitious plans. Consequently we are looking for four courageous and inspirational leaders for the following roles:- Directorate Manager - Patient Access Directorate Manager - Children and Young People Directorate Manager - Womens Health (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) Directorate Manager - Surgical Specialities (Breast and Ophthalmology)

Job responsibilities
The Successful Candidates will have: A patient centred approach, with a clear focus on safety and quality as the drivers for change and improvement. A successful track record of compassionate and transformational leadership and service improvement in a complex healthcare setting. Experience of and confidence working independently and setting their own programme of work. The ability to be comfortable negotiating with and influencing a wide-range of stakeholders to ensure that the aims of the Directorates, Service Group and wider Health Board are achieved. Experience of building strong and effective working relationships both internally and externally.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential
Masters or equivalent experience at a Senior Management level within the NHS. Service Improvement qualification (Bronze)

Evidence of continued professional development. Service Improvement qualification (Silver)

Experience of achievement at senior management level. Proven success of supporting complex organisational change whilst ensuring maintenance of high quality standards of care. Experience of managing performance and ensuring targets and performance indicators are met. Experience of successful project management.
