Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Leadwith experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Conditions, to provideleadership and specialist clinical input in Beechwood College. Beechwood is aspecialist residential education service providing person centred care andeducation for young people aged 16-25 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, learningdisabilities and complex behavioural presentations.
Main duties of the job
You will take a lead role in providing support anddirect practice leadership to the multi-disciplinary team in order to ensuredelivery of high quality services in educational and residential provisions,through assessment and formulation to intervention and evaluation. As a seniorclinician, you will take a lead role in coordinating the overall clinicalprovision across the site, which varies according to individual need andcommissioned requirements.
To be considered forthis post, you must be a HCPC/NMC registered professional with post-qualificationexperience working in Autism and/or learning disability willhave received post-qualification training in positive behavioural support, havesubstantial experience and knowledge of multi-disciplinary clinicalintervention for people with an Autism Spectrum Condition, and be competent in understandingand applying principles of the Mental Capacity Act as relevant to the setting.

You will join anexisting multidisciplinary team involving colleagues from clinical psychology,nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychiatry, dietetics,education and residential care. Across the wider Iris Care Group, you will joina clinical services team, working across multiple specialities and disciplines,allowing for a high level of peer support and the sharing of clinicalresources. We have an active internal CPD process and have active links withlocal universities and with local special interest groups across specialisms.The department is active in service evaluation and development, particularly inthe areas of recovery focused mental health care, autism adapted evidence basedtherapies, person centred planning, positive behavioural support and restraintreduction, the measurement of staff cultures, and service user involvement.

JOB SUMMARY
Toprovide strategic and clinical leadership to the MDT within Beechwood Collegeand to ensure appropriate clinical governance of all clinical activities withinthe college, as delivered by all professional groups.
Toprovide strategic and clinical leadership regarding assessment and treatmentdelivery to multi-disciplinary clinicians who deliver psychologicalinterventions at Beechwood College and if required other ICG LearningDisability Services
Todevelop, implement and evaluate, along with other staff qualified in theprovision of Applied Behaviour Analysis/ positive behavioural support, a coherentand evidence based programme for the delivery of such interventions by theMDT.
Todevelop robust systems within the organisation to ensure that positiveapproaches to challenging behaviour become embedded into the generalfunctioning and culture of the organisation.
Toensure that clinical input is integrated with educational delivery and issupportive of identified learning outcomes for young people within theservice. To work closely with educationstaff to achieve this.
To provide practice leadership throughout theCollege and be responsive to clinical situations arising on site during workinghours
Toensure, alongside other members of the Senior Leadership Team, that the serviceremains compliant with the Mental Capacity Act code of practice and that thereis appropriate identification and triage of capacity assessments requiring aclinical decision maker.
To providespecialised assessment and therapy to young people and adults which reflectsrelevant knowledge and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

Essential
HCPC / NMC registration in relevant profession ( Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work) Specialist post graduate training and experience in problems related to individuals with autism spectrum conditions, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities. Training in the application of the Mental Capacity and Mental Health Acts; and statutory safeguarding practices as relevant to this population-
