We have a vacancy for a full-time letterbox co Ordinator based in Sheffield and part of the One Adoption South Yorkshire regional adoption agency.
Currently the letterbox is based in the Moorfoot building in Sheffield. The role is to undertake all duties involved in the management and co-ordination of the adoption letterbox service.
The letterbox facilitates contact between the adoptive children and their birth families. There will be an opportunity to improve the letterbox role and to be part of the national developments looking at different ways of adoptive families and birth families staying in touch.
Letterbox is maintained for our adopted children until the adopted child reaches the age of 25 years of age.
The role will include the provision of advice and assistance in relation to the scheme to service users (adopters and birth families), social work professionals in the Council as well as partner adoption agencies. Additionally, the post holder will assist in the delivery of workshops to support to newly approved adopter in their understanding of stay in touch.
The post holder will maintain a high standard of case file management. They will ensure that records and systems are maintained in accordance with departmental requirements.
The work demands a diligent approach in order that the adoptive family details remain confidential.
You will be office based and your role will involve extensive use of IT systems.
There is a strong team ethos, and it is expected that the successful applicant will be a team player as well as be able to work independently.
In return the successful candidate will receive regular, good quality supervision and support. You will be part of an evolving and aspirational service.
We are developing our support offer in a creative and innovative way, including working with the adoption community in Sheffield as part of the South Yorkshire Regional Adoption Agency.
