Job Title: Compliance and Quality Officer

Location: Liverpool, On-site

Reports to: Global Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance and Quality Officer to join our team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our operations comply with regulatory standards and internal quality management systems. Reporting directly to the Global Head of HSE, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our commitment to excellence and drive continuous improvement in compliance and quality processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant local, national, and international regulations, standards, and legislation pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality.
  2. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality management systems to uphold product quality standards and ensure consistency in manufacturing processes.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, incidents, audits, and corrective actions. Prepare regular reports for management review and regulatory reporting requirements.
  5. Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance, quality standards, and best practices to foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  6. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to assess and manage the quality of materials and components sourced from suppliers.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance compliance processes, quality systems, and operational efficiency through the implementation of best practices and innovative solutions.
  8. Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents and emergencies.
The Successful Applicant

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in compliance, quality assurance, or related roles within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments and levels of the organisation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) or environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH) is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
