Role and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the learning journey of young individuals.
  • Provide dedicated support to help students achieve their EHCP targets.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Drive improvements in attendance, attainment, and achievement.
  • Collaborate with students to enhance their learning and life skills.

Qualifications and Professional Development (Desirable):

  • Possession of Level 2 or Level 3 in Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Innovative thinking to tailor learning approaches for individual students.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in IT usage for work-related tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Disability/SEN theory and practices, especially in relation to Autism.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
  • Awareness of relevant legal and scrutiny frameworks.
  • Commitment to inclusive approaches to enhance attendance, attainment, and achievement.

Essential Skills and Training:

  • Training in ADHD & Autism.
  • Trauma Training.
  • CPD in Safeguarding with children.
  • Behavioral Intervention (BI) Training.
  • Teaching assistant qualifications - Level 2 / 3 in teaching and learning or equivalent.
  • Childcare qualifications.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Mental and Physical fitness assessment.
  • Makaton training.
  • Valid driver's license (due to rural location).
