Job Opportunity for SEN Teaching Assistants

We are seeking highly motivated and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team at a specialist SEN school in Chester.

About the Role:

This school is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to support young people with autism aged 4-19 years who may have additional learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge.

The successful candidates will work in a full-time and long-term capacity, supporting the educational and personal needs of the students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise educational activities, sports, and craft sessions
  • Assist children with their reading and learning needs
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons and maintain a safe and organized environment
  • Work with pupils in small groups or one-to-one, providing additional support and guidance
  • Help children with their daily routines and personal care
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • School experience and a strong understanding of SEN support
  • References covering the last two years, with no gaps
  • A current DBS on the update service or willingness to take one out
  • The right to work in the UK
