Job Title:  Cylinder Head Trainee Engineer

Reports To:  Cylinder Head Re-Manafacture Manager
Location:  Knowsley
Job Purpose:  To develop the skills and competencies to become a Clarke Energy (INNIO Jenbacher) cylinder head remanufacturing engineer.
Majority of time spent: Re-Furbishing INNIO Jenbacher Cylinder Heads

Responsibilities.

You will be expected to complete all Competencies, Qualifications and Tasks required for a Cylinder Head Trainee Engineer in the internal cylinder head engineer competency matrix

Deliver and/or collect parts or tooling at off-site locations as required.

Assist in the smooth running of the Cylinder Head Department by undertaking other duties as requested.

Use and inspection of workshop equipment including overhead cranes, forklift vehicles and ladders.

Follow and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times.

To fulfil the requirement of the Cylinder Head Trainee Engineer competency matrix which shall include as a minimum:

Sandblasting Frequent use of vibrational hand power tools (Power drills, angle grinders and buffer wheels) Using workshop measuring equipment (ability to read μm, bore gauge, internal/external micrometres and DTI’s) Pressure testing of cylinder heads and checking for cracks or porosity Full cylinder head re-working including assembly and disassembly Re-working cylinder head components Quality control check ensuring the service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria. Log all data onto job cards in accordance with time and quality standards, for input into the system. Work to established tolerances to assess and whenever possible, repair cylinder heads to agreed timescales and standards of quality. Follow and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times. Component knowledge- tolerances, materials and methods of repair. Flexible approach to responsibilities – willing to do as asked.
