Job summary

Healthwatch Croydon is the local champion for Healthand Social Care, commissioned by Croydon Council to hear the views of patientsand service users. The Healthwatch Croydon Research and Engagement Officer willwork closely with the Engagement Lead and Communications Lead to take forwardthe work of Healthwatch Croydon on resident engagement and research. This is acore strategic focus for the organisation and builds on a substantial trackrecord. The key responsibility will be to support engagement includingoutreach, events and research such as data entry and analysis. The role willhelp deliver against measured outcomes, and maximise the impact of our work.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for anindividual who has a strong interest in health and social care, is comfortablecommunicating with the public and colleagues at all levels. The role requiressomeone who enjoys a varied role, working as part of a small, friendly andcohesive team. Someone who enjoys creating content, who equally enjoys workingwith data as well as people, and is methodical with an eye for detail. Acandidate who is keen to learn and grow will have the opportunity to gainvarious experiences in the role.

Job responsibilities

Researchsupport

Undertake surveys,interviews and focus groups.

Administrationof research data and upload it to the CRM system or Smart Survey.

Analyse data.

Present data in aneffective manner as well as writing and proofing reports.

Engagement

Work to deliveroutreach, events, insight work going into the community and conducting surveys,interviews and focus groups.

Partnership-buildingand support

Liaise withPatient Participation Groups to share insight as well as supporting thedevelopment of the Healthwatch Croydon PPG Network.

Support management and recruitment of volunteers.

Maintain highly professional and effective working relationships withstakeholders in Croydon at all levels, including Croydon Council, local NHSbodies, voluntary organisations, resident groups, and individuals.

Administration

Provideadministrative and logistical support to the team (Manager, Engagement Lead andCommunication Lead).

Anyother relevant administrative and project support duties required to ensure thesmooth running of Public Voices resident engagement work, including occasionalout of hours working.

Degree in subject with social research content or relevant working experience.

Able to use IT to a competent standard such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office. Experience of using databases, CRM or Excel. Experience of producing written content.

Talking, engaging and listening to the public. Engagement with multiple stakeholders, including the Council, NHS bodies and other public service providers. Experience of using websites and social media.
