About the Role

Purpose of the job:

To manage all matters concerning the Council's banking services and finance systems operation, development, enhancement upgrade and functional changes within the Shared Finance Service responsibility.

Examples of duties included in the role profile:

> Support the ongoing development of the Council's financial systems, including implementation and testing of system upgrades and new interfaces.

> Support the management of systems and control processes, including BACS submissions, bank reconciliations, management of user and supplier data and loading of interfaces.

> Design, develop and deliver training to system users.

> Pro-actively review the use of finance systems to identify optimal ways of operating the finance systems and deliver continual improvement processes;

> Advise services on technical aspects of income collection options.

About Us

The Shared Finance Service ambition is to add value, inspire success and this role is part of the Shared Finance Service (SFS) team collectively responsible for delivering SFS activities to realise this ambition.

About You

Candidates will be AAT or above qualified (or demonstrable equivalent knowledge) with experience of developing and maintaining financial systems. Successful candidates will have experience of ensuring accurate reconciliations and balancing of systems and data, to ensure accurate recording of data from source. You will be able to manage a team, with strong performance management capabilities and leadership skills. You should have excellent problem solving, communication and team working skills.
