Job summary

We are seeking applications for a dynamic and enthusiastic Interventional Cardiology Nurse Consultant to join and lead the Interventional Cardiology Specialist Nurse team at James Cook Hospital.

This role may be offered at a Band 8a or 8b level, dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will demonstrably improve the care for people within the remit of Interventional and Structural heart disease by providing expert clinical and nursing leadership for the further development of the service. The NC will utilise expert skills to both contribute to and also strategically develop the clinical service as outlined in their job plan. They will utilise expert clinical assessment skills to ensure patients receive high standards of evidence-based care, coronary intervention, and support from referral to discharge, to promote a better quality of life and contribute to reduced morbidity and mortality. They will provide expert level nursing care to all appropriate patients and lead a team of Interventional Cardiology (IC) specialist nurses.
