We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.

Hours This position is full time working hours per week on a rotational basis, including weekends. Salary This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £29,400 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Work predominately in our planned care team. You will be wing based and support Pharmacy technicians in administration of medications Be responsible for interventions on your wing such as taking bloods, vaccinating, completing assessments and referrals and triaging healthcare applications Work across substance misuse services and provide care and assessment to those undergoing detox for drug and alcohol.

Our new Healthcare Assistant Will Have:

NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care Experience in a healthcare environment - any prison experience would be a bonus A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Excellent communication skills Good IT skills and IT literacy Ability to work within a busy environment Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
