We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Oncology team at Private Care at Guys currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The unit comprises of 21 beds dedicated, including 2 beds reserved for patients undergoing stem cell transplants or immunotherapy requiring close monitoring for symptom management and enhanced plan of care.

As a Healthcare Assistant on the Oncology Ward, you will be working alongside a team of competent nurses with skills and expertise to care for haematology/oncology patients undergoing therapy and surveillance for their underlying condition. You will be instrumental in supporting patient care responsibilities with the nursing team to promote patient safety and quality service care delivery. Given the specialised patient population, this inpatient unit often accommodates day case patients to receive their scheduled therapy per protocol in addition to inpatients for longer stays. In essence, the Healthcare Assistant will complete the ‘care team’ integral to satisfying the holistic care needs for a patient population enduring cancer treatments.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Good Clinical Skills in Phlebotomy desirable
- Previous experience working in Cancer Care desirable
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and written
- Carry out observations, investigations and treatments as required
- Report any concerns to the nurse in charge
- Ensure all charges are captured
- Recognise own limitations and request assistance as necessary
