We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and proactive Adult and Paediatric trained nurses/ODP's to join our friendly and supportive team

NUH Theatre Recovery spans 2 campuses - QMC and City - and provides care for patients in the immediate post-operative phase for both adult and paediatric patients covering 46 operating theatres following emergency and elective surgeries. Surgical specialties include major trauma, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, hepatobiliary, general surgery, maxillofacial, spinal surgery, eye surgery, ENT, obstetrics, vascular, upper GI, thoracic and burns. Paediatric patients are cared for at QMC.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a pro-active, dynamic team of nurses and ODP's, who offer the best standards of perioperative care.

You should be able to demonstrate effective team working and work to the highest standards of evidence basedpractice.

A sense of humour and pride in your job is essential.

NUH is a Major Trauma Centre offering fantastic support to a diverse range of students and learners and therefore the successful applicant should either hold or be willing to work towards a level three mentorship qualification.

About us

The successful applicant will participate in the current Main Theatre rota which includes out of hours work, nights and weekend shifts. There is a commitment to Bank Holiday work and on-calls

Current level one NMC registration or HCPC registration

Demonstrate Computer literacy & use of IT skills - e-mail, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Experience

Essential

Demonstrate an understanding of the Theatre/Recovery role

Desirable

Experience of delivering care to patients in an acute hospital setting.
