DescriptionHere at Marlborough Highways we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us in a newly created role within our Performance Team as the Business Improvement Manager. 

Reporting to the Head of Performance, you will be required to work across our Contracts in collaboration with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders to ensure that business improvement and innovation is at the forefront of our service offering. 

You will be responsible for the design and implementation of our innovation strategy and associated processes, ensuring these are adopted throughout the business. Successfully deploying innovations and improvement opportunities that provide the greatest benefit in terms of whole life cost, social value, time, quality, sustainability, and safety. The post holder will be responsible for working alongside and inspiring our existing teams to transform the way we work, embracing technology, improved ways of working and decarbonisation.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Working alongside senior stakeholder in the business, create a business improvement strategy
  • Develop a suite of tools, including process maps, that supports the delivery of our strategy, ensuring the effective roll out and training to our employees
  • In partnership with our Clients, facilitate business improvement workshops. Driving initial ideas through to business cases, implementation, and benefits realisation where appropriate
  • Establish an internal business improvement forum, facilitating a culture of improvement throughout our organisation 
  • Lead on the production of internal and external innovation reports across our contracts demonstrating the benefits and effectiveness of our approach
  • Work collaboratively with our bid and marketing teams to ensure our successes are recognised as best practice and celebrated through case studies, social media and industry award events
  • Ensure the ongoing development of relationships and client satisfaction through continual improvement. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A collaborative approach, with confidence in presenting to various audiences
  • Can effectively plan prioritise and manage challenging deadlines
  • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Visio.
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • A good communicator, who is able to negotiate and engage with a variety of stakeholders 
  • Great eye for detail, organised and able to produce reports in clear and timely manner
  • An understanding of highways term maintenance Contracts, would be beneficial 
  • Demonstrating previous experience of data driven innovations leading to improved outcomes will form a key part of the role. Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, you will have experience in implementing innovative solutions, and be confident in presenting these to various audiences
