Contract/Hours: Fixed Term/Full Time (18 months) - 40 hours per week

The Nursery

Spring Cedars truly is a cozy haven for the children in our care and we would like an Early Years Apprentice to join our team. Spring Cedars can accommodate up to 46 children each day, from babies to 4-year-olds. The team are dedicated and highly qualified, who prioritise the well-being of the children above all else. Our learning environments are thoughtfully designed to ignite curiosity and encourage exploration, with the use of natural and open-ended resources. There is fantastic outdoor area where curiosity and imagination can run wild. It includes a mud kitchen, a Forest School space, and even a vegetable patch. We strongly believe in engaging with the community, so our staff and children often embark on exciting trips to explore the local area. We visit places like the library, museum, parks, woods, and even the beach. When it comes to meals and snacks, we make sure they are not only delicious but also healthy, nutritious, and well-balanced. Our skilled chef prepares on site. We're open for 51 weeks of the year, except for bank holidays. It truly is a wonderful place for children to learn, grow, and feel right at home.

In the role of Apprentice you will;

  • Work alongside nursery practitioners, helping to support children's development.
  • Help plan and set up activities for a range of children with support of the team.
  • Develop good relationships with the children and families.
  • Daily updates on our online system (famly) to keep families updated.

What we need from you:

Our successful candidate will be enthusiastic and proactive, with a positive attitude and will have the skills to form strong, supportive relationships with parents, children, and the team.

The Early Years Apprentice job description outlines the requirements of the role. But, the 'must haves' are:

  • A genuine interest in childcare and a true passion for working with children
  • Patience, a friendly manner, and the ability to communicate with children, young people, colleagues and other adults such as parents and carers
  • A commitment to your qualification and the ability to manage work and study

The Training

You will be completing an Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship. The expected duration of this course is 18 months.

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid OR Level 3 Award Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Apprentices will achieve an EYE qualification which has been approved to count towards the EYFS level 3 child: staff ratios
