Job summary

Are you an adult Registered Nurse, with significant ED experience who is educated to degree level?

We have a vacancy for a substantive Band 7 clinical charge nurse in our Emergency Department and welcome applications from people who meet the essential criteria.

NUH is a major Trauma Centre covering the east Midlands and also the current home of the Channel 4 series "24 hours in A&E" Our busy ED is one of the largest in Europe and has its own separate Paediatric ED.

We are looking for a degree educated, highly motivated individual, who has the ability to solve complex issues, whilst being a visible and supportive clinical advisor and leader.

Main duties of the job

It is a full internal rotation role, with shifts from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730

Demanding and challenging, this role will engage all of your existing skills, and build on them. Your operational expertise and knowledge will maximise the consistency and effectiveness of the service we provide and the excellent standards we strive to achieve.

Can you spot talent and develop individuals within your teams? Do you seize every opportunity to provide education and coaching in the clinical setting?

You will be a degree educated registered nurse with substantial post registration experience in an acute setting at a Band 6 level and significant ED experience. You will be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to manage the department and use your experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance, working flexibly as a member of the departmental team.
