Are you passionate about supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their educational journey? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teacher - ASD Experienced to join secondary schools in Newcastle from September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in student's lives, helping them succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities of Secondary Teacher - ASD Experienced:

  • Teach relevant subjects to secondary students, focusing on ASD support.
  • Develop and adapt lessons according to the curriculum, ensuring they meet Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with ASD in the classroom environment.
  • Tailor educational programs to meet the specific needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Job Requirements for Secondary Teacher - ASD Experienced:

  • QTS or relevant degrees such as PGCE, NQT, or ECT qualifications are mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or Education-related fields is essential.
  • Proven experience working as a Secondary Teacher - ASD Experienced or with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Strong understanding of ASD and strategies to support students effectively in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience in adapting teaching methods and resources to support diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
