Job summary

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Skin team as Band 6 - Support Nurse. We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated nurse to join this busy service. The nurse will have the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of skin cancer management in secondary care and develop key CNS skills in an environment supported by an experienced nursing team.

Main duties of the job

To support the symptomatic skin clinical services in providing supportive care for patients with skin cancer, their relatives and carers, from diagnosis, throughout treatment, survivorship pathways, and metastatic disease.

To provide a high standard of care to patients who attend for treatment and supportive care.

The postholder will be expected to work closely with the Skin Clinical Nurse Specialists, the Skin Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), and the Acute Oncology team, in order to implement National Guidance, and ensure patients receive the best care.

To be part of an established, integrated cancer and palliative care service that influences care by specialist practice, encompassing advanced clinical practice, education, and evidence based learning.

Essential

oRegistered Adult on the NMC Register oEvidence of post registration CPD/ Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or oprofessional knowledge supplemented by specialist oexperience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7 o Recognised mentorship course

Desirable

oDemonstrate leadership qualities. oCounselling skills.

Experience

Essential
