The Education and learning department is looking for a highly motivated, responsive and enthusiastic “Practice Development Facilitator” to join our forward thinking and friendly multi-professional education team. The post holder will be supporting the development and delivery of education and training programmes for all learners within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The role will mainly focus on the provision of a high standard of education and support to a wide range of staff including; Newly Qualified Practitioners, Nursing Associates, Student nurses etc. We are therefore seeking an individual who can work autonomously, prioritise effectively and use initiative to deliver to targets.

Working for our organisation

As a key member of the education and learning team you will be working closely with Practice Educators in the provision of a range of training programmes that develops knowledge and skills among learners.

It is essential applicants have excellent communication and presentation skills, experience in workshop and training delivery as well as facilitation skills. The ability to provide ongoing supervision, support and monitoring of progress including the ability to work with all staff groups in the Trust is essential. You will also need to have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to adopt different approaches to learning to meet the needs of the varied learners.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as a skilled member of the corporate education team, to provide a high standard of education and support to all learners including; Newly Qualified Practitioners, Nursing Associates, Student nurses etc. Promotion of various NHS roles to schools and colleges, participating in careers fairs as appropriate. To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team. To be able to provide first level pastoral care to all learners in practice. Maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the Education team.

Essential criteria

Current Clinical and Professional Registration with a Regulatory body Educated to degree level in health related subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area Knowledge of Practice Supervisor and Assessor roles (SSSA) Evidence of post qualifying continuing education Knowledge of Preceptor Role

Desirable criteria

Practice Teacher qualification Practice Assessor

Experience of mentoring, supervising and assessing students and learners in practice Ability to work with minimal supervision Competent practitioner in relevant clinical practice Able to work with a range of databases and software tools Good computer literacy skills Good presentation skills Excellent awareness of professional responsibilities and boundaries and willingness to challenge others Proven abilities to motivate and engage others Well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills Ability to recognise stress in self and others, and to build own resilience Ability to adapt to different ways of working, both independently and part of a multi-agency team Knowledge and experience of clinical supervision Ability to deal with issues of safety and risk within clinical context Ability to travel across a range of health settings
