Responsibilities:
Celanese are recruiting Process Technicians to join us at the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant in Newport, South Wales. As a Process Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring production lines operate flawlessly to maintain the exceptional quality our customers love.
Our Newport Elastomer Plant which specialises in Santoprene is located in Newport, Wales on the River Usk only 12 miles northeast of Cardiff, and is one of the world's leading suppliers of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). These products are used on car windscreens, under-bonnet applications and for interior parts. The versatile product is also used by the construction industry, and for consumer goods such as flexible toothbrushes and kitchen utensils.
Working as part of a shift team, Process Technicians with varied skills in either process, electrical/instrument or mechanical are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their work area. Their focus is on safety, health and the environment, ensuring reliability and operational integrity, while always seeking new ways to improve equipment and systems’ performance.
Responsibilities will include:
Operating extrusion equipment via control room and field based control systems 1st response to breakdowns, basic fault finding, and support with maintenance and repairs Monitoring plant performance and diagnosing faults Maximise reliability through executing operator care rounds Work within shift to ensure delivery of individual and team responsibilities and objectives Conduct detailed shift handovers Fork lift truck operation – up to 3.5 tes (training will be provided) Issue work permits for operations and tanker offloading areasKey attributes of the Process Technician:

Qualifications:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:
Required: Completion of a recognized Mechanical apprenticeship Beneficial but not mandatory: Experience in fault finding using a systematic approach to get to route cause efficiently and effectively. Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems Experience of pumps, motors, feeders (. LIW), valves and actuators Ability to interpret engineering drawings & P&IDs Experience of SAP Experienced in Distributed Control Systems (. DeltaV) FLT license Welding proficient Competent with workshop machinery Experience working in an operational role on a chemical process plant, or related engineering or heavy industry field would be preferred.
