Mechanical Process Technician

About the Role
Celanese Corporation is a global leader in the production of differentiated chemistry solutions and specialty materials. We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team at the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant in Newport, South Wales.
As a Process Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring production lines operate flawlessly to maintain the exceptional quality our customers love. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of your work area, focusing on safety, health, and the environment, while always seeking new ways to improve equipment and systems' performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating extrusion equipment via control room and field-based control systems
- 1st response to breakdowns, basic fault finding, and support with maintenance and repairs
- Monitoring plant performance and diagnosing faults
- Maximise reliability through executing operator care rounds
- Work within shift to ensure delivery of individual and team responsibilities and objectives
- Conduct detailed shift handovers
- Fork lift truck operation – up to 3.5 tes (training will be provided)
- Issue work permits for operations and tanker offloading areas
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized Mechanical apprenticeship
- Experience in fault finding using a systematic approach to get to root cause efficiently and effectively
- Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience of pumps, motors, feeders (LIW), valves and actuators
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings & P&IDs
- Experience of SAP
- Experienced in Distributed Control Systems (DeltaV)
- FLT license
- Welding proficient
- Competent with workshop machinery
