You will be joining our highly skilled Laser Cutting team to ensure work is produced to the highest quality standard and to customer requirements. You will support the Laser Team to cut steel into various shapes and sizes by ensuring they are provided with the correct material, grade and thickness. Training will be provided on our products and there is scope for further development and progression within the Company.


About the role Ensure Laser Machines are supplied with the correct materials Ensure material is checked for size, thickness and grade prior to cutting Load materials onto the laser bedSupport the Laser Operator to cut and shape the correct materials according to engineer drawingsInspect finished components; Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling productsInform the Laser Operator of any quality concerns Ensure parts and sheets are handled and labelled correctly Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next department / team

About you

Knowledge working within a machining operative / machine minding capacity or general laser production Basic math skills for measurements and calculationsSlinging and lifting crane experienceWillingness to learn; many Production Assistants become Laser OperatorsA flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirementsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levelsAbility to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to othersStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
