Job Title: Laser Operator

We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator to join our team at a leading sub-contract fabrication/machining company in Rotherham. As a Laser Operator, you will be responsible for operating high specification laser cutting machines in a sub-contract environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate laser cutting machines to a high level of safety and productivity
  • Ensure laser cutting machinery and other manufacturing equipment is running at optimum levels, maximizing output while maintaining high quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy production area
  • Assist with stock control of raw materials and consumables, ensuring the 'Progress' system is up-to-date
  • Communicate and liaise with directors on working practices, including health and safety issues
  • Achieve agreed dispatch dates and quantities for customer orders
  • Manage shop floor materials and stock levels for full-size sheets and off-cut remnants
  • Operate company fork lift truck safely
Requirements:
  • Competent in setting and operating high specification laser cutting machines
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, including isometric and basic 2D/3D
  • Organizational skills for internal paperwork
  • Experience with CNC Pressbrake machines or willingness to be trained
